ASA Membership
 
African Studies Association of India offers membership to individuals and institutions engaged or interested in African affairs. Membership activities are guided and monitored by the Executive Committee of the Association. Members of ASA play important role in governance, administration and general activities. The subscription period for all categories of members - both individual and institutional (except Life Members) - is 01 April to 31 March. This is irrespective of the date on which subscription was paid during the previous year. Annual membership fee is to be paid for the minimum of two financial years. Annual Members can also pay for a flexible period up to ten years. 
 
Types of Membership 
 
Life Members
Life Members have the right to vote and serve as office bearers. They are part of ASA’s mailing list and receive regular updates about ASA activities and current Indo-African and African affairs through e-mails. They get concessions in the programme registration fee of ASA and are eligible for ASA travel support grants programmes. They get discounts on ASA publications. They also have the privilege of attending all the programmes of ASA. 
 
Annual Members
Members like Life members have the right to vote and serve as office bearers. They are part of ASA’s mailing list and receive regular updates about ASA activities and current Indo-African and African affairs through e-mails. They get concessions in the programme registration fee of ASA and are eligible for ASA travel support grants programmes. They get discounts on ASA publications. They also have the privilege of attending all the programmes of ASA.
 
Associate/Student Members
This is a long term membership with concessional rate with similar facility like annual members but without participation in voting rights.
 
Institutional Members
Institutional members are part of ASA’s mailing list and receive regular updates about ASA activities and current Indo-African and African affairs through e-mails. They get discounts on ASA publications. The institutional member through its representative has the right to vote by and have the privilege of attending all the programmes of ASA.

(v) Member Login: only the members of ASA can have access to this section of website and they will be provided with individual Pass word. 
    
Membership Fees 
The membership fees under various categories are decided by the Executive Committee and is subject to change. The current fees for different categories of members are as follows:
 
Fee for Indian Members
Common Admission fees: Rs.500/-one time for all category of members for the first time.
Membership Fee for Life Member: Rs 50000/- 
For Annual Member: Rs. 5000/- for minimum one term (two years) @Rs.10000/ financial year plus admission fee
Associate /Student Member: Rs. 2500 for five years @Rs.500/financial year plus admission fee (Minimum five years) 
For Institutional Member: Rs.10,000/- per year or Rs. 2,00000/- for life. 
For Donor Member: Rs.2,00000/- or more.  
 
International Members
Common Admission Fees: US$25 (one time only for all category of members).
For Life Member: US$1500 (Plus Admission Fee US$25).
For Annual Member US$ 75/ financial year (Plus admission fee of US$25)
For Student Member  US$ 25/ financial year (Plus admission fee of US$25)
For Institutional Member: US$500/ financial year (01 April–31 March) (Plus Admission fee US$25)
